A high powered Committee from the University of Mysore, Mysore  comprising of Prof. Mewa Singh (Dean of Faculty of Sciences and Chairman of the Committee), Prof. H. S. Prakash (Department of Biotechnology, and Member), Prof. K. A. Raveesha (Department of Botany and Member) and Prof. V. Ravishankar Rai (Department of Microbiology and Member) visited Labland to inspect the research facilities. The visit follows the Company’s application to the University to consider Labland’s research facilities as a ‘Mysore University-recognized Research Centre’ that can carry out research activities leading to the award of the doctoral degree.


Labland commences the sale of Jatropha curcas multi-cultures as a part of its newly added product portfolio.


Dr. Geetaa Singh, Managing Director,  hands over the first consignment of tissue culture Jatropha curcas clones in multiculture form to Ms. Poornima Ramachandra, the CEO of a Private  Limited Company at Labland Head Office, KRS Road, Mysore on the 23rd of June, 2009, in an in-house function.

Dr. Geetaa Singh and Mr. Rajagopal participated in the meeting called by the British High Commissioner, Mr. Richard Hyde, on the 17th of June 2009 at Bangalore and interacted with the delegation of the UK Life Science Companies.
Dr. Sudheer Shetty was invited by the Institution of Engineers, Mysore Chapter to give a talk on The Global Demand for Jatropha- Its Importance as a Non-Edible Oil Crop on the 11th of April 2009.
Dr. Geetaa Singh chaired the panel discussions on the Bio-Industry Conclave For Human Resource Development organized by Biotech Consortium India Limited, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India in Bangalore on the 9th of April, 2009.  

Dr. Sudheer Shetty delivered a lecture on Jatropha Plant Science and Biodiesel  Production on the National Environmental Awareness Campaign organized by the Mangalore University, Department of Biosciences, Mangalore on the 31st of March 2009.

Dr. Geetaa Singh, Managing Director of Labland was invited to give a lead talk on The Impact of Tissue Culture on Agriculture in India at The National Women’s Science Congress, Karnataka State Women’s   University, Bijapur, Karnataka on the 6th of December 2008.

Dr. Sudheer Shetty, Chairman was felicitated by the Department of Biotechnology and Seed Pathology, University of Mysore for his contributions to the field of Biotechnology, on the 17th of November 2008.




Dr. Sudheer Shetty was awarded the Mysore District Rajyotsava Award for his services in the field of Biotechnology, by the Mysore District Administration on the 1st of November 2008.





Dr. Sudheer Shetty and Dr. Geetaa Singh met Sri Kapil Sibal, Honorable Minister for Science and Technology, Government of India on the 10th of October, 2008 at Delhi, to discuss on the upcoming Project of Labland - The Jatropha Centre of Excellence in Mysore.



Dr. K. Prasanna Rai, Senior Scientist of Labland participated in the Global Conference on China Biodiesel – Feedstock & Markets and gave a talk on Jatropha curcas Cultivation – From Soil to Oil on the 27th of February, 2008 at Beijing, China.

Dr. Sudheer Shetty was felicitated by Sri. Jagaduguru Shivaratreeshwara Deshikendra Swamiji of JSS Mutt  in the presence of Prof. B. Vivek Rai, Vice Chancellor, Karnataka State Open University for his contributions to the development of folk arts and social services on the 22nd of February, 2008.





Dr. Sudheer Shetty was an invited speaker at the 2nd Annual World Renewable Energy Summit (WRES) at Kuala Lumpur, to speak on Jatropha as an energy Crop – Initiatives, Opportunities and Impediments, on the 27th and the 28th of March 2007.
